North Carolina's Outerbanks Adventure!

Enjoy the beauty of the sun, sand, lighthouses, seashells, and the best fresh seafood! Pirate and Ghost Stories abound on this fun-filled and relaxing adventure to the beautiful Outerbanks of North Carolina!

Day one: Travel day, arrive to Charlottesville, Va, check into host hotel. Dinner this evening will be at the Hardware Store featuring a traditional Virginia Ham Dinner….special guest appearance by Thomas Jefferson!

Day two: After breakfast, we will visit Monticello, the plantation home of President Thomas Jefferson, step back in time during your tour of this amazing home and grounds. Depart for the Outerbanks of North Carolina, lunch on own en route. Check into host hotel with ocean front rooms right on the beach….free time to relax, then it’s off to a seafood buffet and feast at Queen Anne’sRevenge on Manteo Island….non-seafood items available for the landlubbers!

Day three: Following breakfast depart with local guide to visit the Wright Brothers Museum and Memorial, home to the First Flight! Then it’s off to Roanoke Island, home of the Lost Colony for lunch on your own at the historic waterfront district and shopping time. In the afternoon we will take in Festival Park Museum on North Carolina History and tour a replica of the sailing ship, Elizabeth II which the colonists sailed in from England. We will also visit the acclaimed North Carolina Aquarium to experience the wildlife prevalent on the NC coast. Dinner this evening will be at Basnight’s Lone Cedar voted best on the outerbanks! Your guide will relate ghost and pirate tales and terrors!

Day Four: Following breakfast depart with guide for Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Ocracoke Island. Stops included at Bodie Island Lighthouse and Hatteras Lighthouse, tallest brick light in North America! We will board the ferry to Ocracoke Island, lair of Blackbeard the Pirate! Included lunch at Captain Ben’s, walking tour of the fishing village including a stop at Ocracoke Lighthouse, oldest on the outerbanks, shopping time at the many quaint art galleries and boutiques, and free time on the unspoiled beaches of Ocracoke, voted one of the top ten beaches in the US! Dinner this evening will be on your own at one of the many restaurants near the Inn, we can also make a run back over to Manteo Island for those that want to see the Outdoor Drama The Lost Colony. This will be weather permitting and ticket cost will be on your own. Or simply enjoy the sunset on the beach!

Day Five: Following breakfast, depart for Winston Salem. Check into host hotel. Supper will be at the California Fresh Buffet for an awesome selection of fresh foods prepared by local business and professional people….all profits donated to charity!

Day Six: Tour Old Salem Moravian Village for a step back in time…enjoy a visit to the Moravian Bakery for some fo the famous thin cookies and breads. A lunch stop will be included en route home.

Hot breakfast included each day.
